Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled GIS Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, analyzing, and visualizing spatial data to support various projects related to land surveying, construction, and infrastructure development. This role requires strong expertise in GIS software, data management, and scripting languages, with an emphasis on delivering accurate and actionable insights through advanced data analysis and visualization techniques. Duties

  • Collect, organize, and maintain geospatial data using GIS tools such as ArcGIS and CAD software.
  • Perform land surveying data analysis utilizing GPS technology and land survey principles.
  • Develop and manage spatial databases, including relational databases and SQL-based systems.
  • Create detailed maps, visualizations, and reports using data visualization tools to communicate findings effectively.
  • Write scripts in Python, JavaScript, or other scripting languages to automate data collection, processing, and analysis workflows.
  • Integrate APIs and utilize scripting for data extraction from external sources or web services.
  • Support project management efforts by coordinating data collection activities and ensuring timely delivery of geospatial datasets.
  • Draft technical documentation and reports for project stakeholders while maintaining version control through platforms like SharePoint.
  • Lead or assist with land development projects by providing GIS expertise in construction planning and analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions for complex spatial problems using data modeling techniques.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, CAD (AutoCAD), and related tools.
  • Strong understanding of land surveying principles, GPS technology, and geospatial data collection methods.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, JavaScript, scripting for APIs, and data visualization techniques.
  • Knowledge of databases including relational databases and data management best practices.
  • Experience with data analysis skills including analysis of large datasets, drafting maps, and creating visual representations of spatial information.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies to coordinate tasks effectively.
  • Ability to analyze complex spatial datasets for decision-making purposes in construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting technical findings clearly to both technical teams and non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to guide junior team members or coordinate multi-disciplinary project efforts is a plus. Job Type: Contract

Pay: $33.26 – $40.05 per hour
